Refund Policy
Last updated: August 2026
The short version
You can cancel any time. We do not offer refunds as a matter of course, but if BlitzLetter did not work as it should, or you are genuinely unhappy with it, tell us and we will put it right or refund you accordingly.
Cancelling
Cancel from Account → Billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops the next payment; it is not a refund of the current one.
Your Pro or Pro+ features stay available until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. When that period ends your account moves to the Free plan automatically: 3 letters per month, and any saved letters beyond the free plan's history become unavailable rather than deleted.
When we refund
We refund when something went wrong on our side. In practice that means:
- A duplicate or mistaken charge. Refunded in full as soon as we see it, without being asked.
- You paid and did not get the plan you paid for. We fix the account first, and refund if you would rather not continue.
- The service did not work for you. Generation failing, letters not saving, downloads not working, or an outage that stopped you using the plan for a meaningful part of a billing period.
For the last case, send us what you saw, a screenshot or an error message. It helps us fix the problem as well as settle the refund, and we would rather have it than argue about it.
When we do not
- Letters you generated and then decided not to use. Every generation costs us to produce.
- Forgetting to cancel before a renewal, where the service worked as described.
- Dissatisfaction with a job application outcome. We generate the letter; we do not influence hiring.
- Accounts suspended for breaching the Terms of Service.
None of this affects your statutory rights, including those under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 if you are a UK consumer.
What happens to your access
A full refund cancels the subscription and returns the account to the Free plan straight away. This is automatic, not a manual step, so access and payment can never drift apart. A partial refund leaves your plan and access exactly as they are.
How to ask, and how long it takes
Use the contact form with the email address on the account and roughly when you were charged. We aim to reply within one working day.
Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe releases them immediately; your bank typically shows the money within 5–10 working days. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
Questions
Anything unclear here, ask before you buy: contact us. This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service; if the two ever conflict on refunds, this page governs.
